Air Force PT Calculator2026 USAF PFRA Score Calculator: 2-Mile Run, HAMR, Push-ups, Core & Waist-to-Height
The Air Force PT test (PFRA) scores 100 points: 50 for the 2-mile run or HAMR, 20 for waist-to-height ratio, 15 for push-ups and 15 for a core event; you pass with 75 and every component minimum, and 90 is Excellent. Pick your events, enter your results and see your composite, pass status, each event’s points and exactly where your next points are hiding.
Every cell comes from the AFPC Final USAF Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment Scoring charts (effective 1 March 2026): all events, both sexes, all 9 age groups.

How the Air Force PT test (PFRA) is scored in 2026
The Air Force Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment (PFRA) is scored out of 100: cardio (2-mile run or 20-meter HAMR) is worth 50 points, waist-to-height ratio 20, push-ups 15 and a core event 15. You pass with a composite of 75 or more and at least the minimum in cardio, strength and core; 90 or more is Excellent. Points come from the official charts for your sex and age group, effective March 1, 2026, with scored testing from July 1, 2026.
Every value in this calculator comes from the Air Force Personnel Center’s Final USAF Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment Scoring charts: 9 age groups for men and women, every event and every point row, plus the sex-neutral AFSPECWAR/EOD standard and the 2 km walk.
The four PFRA components
| Component | Events | Max points | Minimum points |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cardiorespiratory | 2-mile run or 20 m HAMR (2 km walk if profiled) | 50 | 35 |
| Body composition | Waist-to-height ratio | 20 | none |
| Muscular strength | 1-minute push-ups or hand-release push-ups | 15 | 2.5 |
| Core endurance | 1-minute sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunch or forearm plank | 15 | 2.5 |
How the composite score works
Each event earns the highest row of the chart you meet or beat: a run time at or under the listed time, or reps or a plank hold at or above it. The starred bottom row is the component minimum; falling below it fails the test whatever your composite.
Waist-to-height ratio points (all ages, men and women)
| Waist-to-height ratio | Points (of 20) | Chart band |
|---|---|---|
| 0.49 or less | 20 | Low risk |
| 0.50 | 19 | Low risk |
| 0.51 | 18 | Low risk |
| 0.52 | 17 | Low risk |
| 0.53 | 16 | Moderate risk |
| 0.54 | 15 | Moderate risk |
| 0.55 | 12.5 | Moderate risk |
| 0.56 | 10 | High risk |
| 0.57 | 7.5 | High risk |
| 0.58 | 5 | High risk |
| 0.59 | 2.5 | High risk |
| 0.60 or more | 0 | High risk |
Height is taken to the nearest half inch and the ratio is cut off (not rounded) at two decimals. There is no body composition minimum, but a high ratio costs up to 20 points.

Where Airmen gain points fastest
Each cardio row is worth 0.5 to 1 point, and rows are about 19 seconds apart for men 25–29. Shaving a minute off a 16:00 2-mile is worth about 3 composite points.
From 0.54 to 0.55 the score drops from 15 to 12.5, and each hundredth after that costs 2.5 points. An inch off the waist can be worth more than ten push-ups.
You choose push-ups or hand-release push-ups, and sit-ups, reverse crunch or plank. Test each in training and take the one that scores higher on your chart.
A 95 composite is still Unsatisfactory if one component is below its starred minimum.

Air Force PT FAQ
Out of 100 points: 50 for cardio (2-mile run or 20 m HAMR), 20 for waist-to-height ratio, 15 for push-ups or hand-release push-ups and 15 for sit-ups, reverse crunch or forearm plank. Points come from the PFRA charts for your sex and age group.
A composite of 75 or more with every component minimum met (cardio, strength and core). 90 or more is Excellent. Waist-to-height has no minimum.
For men it ranges from 13:25 (under 25) to 16:58 (60 and over); for women from 15:30 to 18:20. Men 25-29 max at 13:35 and must finish by 19:55.
It depends on your age and sex. Men 25-29 need 28 one-minute push-ups to pass and 63 for full points; women 25-29 need 14 and 47.
Divide waist by height (to the nearest half inch) and cut the ratio at two decimals. 0.49 or less earns all 20 points, 0.55 earns 12.5 and 0.60 or more earns 0. It is the same for every age and sex.
Yes. Cardio: 2-mile run or HAMR (2 km walk only with a profile). Strength: push-ups or hand-release push-ups. Core: sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunch or forearm plank.
The exempt component is removed from both points earned and points possible, so the composite is earned divided by possible times 100.
The charts took effect March 1, 2026, with a diagnostic period; officially scored testing began July 1, 2026. Airmen test twice a year.
